Mountains in Switzerland

This post doesn't  have anything to do with food. I thought I'd like to share with you some photos of the beautiful Swiss mountains. Lately, to get rid off the work stress,  I have been spending lots of time in the mountains on my free days. The weather this summer here in Switzerland has been fantastic. I have had some super hikes. People at work call me crazy, because I always stand up at 4 am when I want to drive to the mountains. There is nothing better than to start the hike as early as the sun goes up an no other soul around.

Here are some webpage addresses if you interested in checking some of the places out:

Meglisalp 1520 m ü.M, a tiny cute mountain village with a church, guesthouse and some cottages. To get there you have to walk.

Happy cows high up in the mountains. Between Meglisalp and Rotsteinpass.

On the Rotsteinpass 2124 m ü. M

Right after passing the Rotsteinpass. Säntis mountain still seems to be far away.

You can see the hiking trail very well in the middle of the picture running along the mountain tops.

The trail is the small narrow path in the middle of the picture. The drop down is DEEP! So one shouldn't be afraid of hights.

The other day I wasn't so lucky with the sun. It wasn't raining but I also couldn't really see anything after passing 1700 meters.

Sheep on the edge

I wonder if any sheep ever fall down?

The new restaurant on top of Chäserrugg 2262 m ü.M. I love the wooden style. Unfortunately I could not see how it looks from outside because of the fog. Well, that gave me a good reason to go back soon :D

Going back down from Chäserrugg. In this photo you can see how sudden the clouds start.

Hiking to Speer

The view towards Säntis und Alpstein

The view towards Chäserrugg und Churfirsten

Over there is my destination: Speer 1950 m ü.M

On top of the Speer

Some more of those happy cows
